A shop window is the cheapest advertising space you already own. Graphics covering the whole surface are handled differently from a single text element, because the position must be planned around the window frame, the door handle and any fixed elements behind the glass, such as shelving or furniture, otherwise part of the design could end up right over something meant to stay visible or usable.
For simple text and logos we cut colored vinyl to contour, with no background, and the letters are applied directly to the glass using transfer paper for correct alignment. For richer graphics, with several colors or an image, we print on white vinyl and laminate the result, so the surface withstands the periodic cleaning of the window. Frosted-style film gives a uniform opaque look without being fully dark, useful for partial privacy, while perforated film allows visibility from inside to outside while still showing a complete image as seen from the pavement. For an order cut to the exact size of your glass, we need the width, height and the position of the frames, handles and other fixed elements on or around the glass, because frosted-style or perforated film must be cut around these points rather than as a plain rectangle covering the whole surface.
The exact glass dimensions, including the position of handles and frames, are provided by you at the time of ordering, and the layout is prepared based on those measurements. The graphic file should be vector for text and logos cut to contour, with the fonts converted to outlines, so the letterforms stay identical no matter which computer opens the file; for richer images we accept raster files, at a resolution sufficient for the final print size, otherwise quality drops noticeably when enlarged. A file with a transparent background is printed on whichever film is chosen for that part of the artwork, and the result depends on that film, not on a separate white ink applied to the transparent area. The maximum print width without a seam is 134 cm; for a wider window, the window configurator splits the pane into strips that overlap by 1 cm and shows the seam on the drawing before you order. It is a printed vinyl with small holes across the whole surface. From the street you see the graphic, from inside you can still see out through the glass. It is used on shop windows and on car rear windows. At night, with the lights on inside, the effect reverses and the interior becomes more visible from the street.
