Signage – Nexus Print Lab, Cluj-Napoca

    Signage printed in Cluj-Napoca

Safety signs, directional signage, door plates, site boards: signage is the part of a building nobody notices until it is missing or wrong. We produce ISO 7010 safety signage and custom wayfinding in Cluj-Napoca, printed and laminated on materials chosen for where the sign hangs — a corridor, a warehouse, a facade or an open building site.

    Materials and finishing

Signs are printed on adhesive vinyl mounted on rigid board, or directly on blockout for larger boards, then laminated so cleaning does not erase them. ISO 7010 pictograms are reproduced with the official shapes and colours rather than a lookalike, because an inspector checks exactly that. Sizes follow viewing distance: a sign read from twenty metres is not the same object as a door plate. Drilling, rounded corners and adhesive backing are decided before printing.

    Frequent uses

Door plates mark offices, meeting rooms or technical areas and are usually fixed to the door frame or on the wall next to the leaf. Directional signs guide movement through a building or an outdoor route, from reception toward the floors or the emergency exit, and sit at the junctions where a visitor might hesitate about which way to go. Safety signs use standardised pictograms, exit, fire extinguisher, first aid, and are placed at the recommended height for visibility from any point in the room. Parking and warehouse markings, bay numbers, restricted zones, clearance limits, are printed on laminated materials resistant to cleaning. For a whole building we prepare a numbered set with the mounting order agreed in advance, so the installation team walks through the space only once.

    Common dimensions and formats

Available sign formats are 20×30, 30×40 and 40×60 cm; Wind Pro inserts are A1 (594×841 mm) or B1 (700×1000 mm). Choose the format to suit reading distance and installation space. Indoors, on doors and flat walls, we use laminated self-adhesive vinyl applied directly, or mounted on a thin rigid backing when the wall is not smooth enough for direct application. Outdoors we choose materials resistant to sun and moisture, laminated over the print, for signs mounted at an entrance, in a car park or on a fence. The contour of every piece is cut on a Graphtec plotter, which allows shapes that follow a logo or a rounded corner rather than plain rectangles. For large sets we recommend a single material across the whole building, so the look stays consistent whether a piece sits on a metal door, a painted wall or an outdoor fence. Send us a few photos of the mounting spots before ordering, so we choose correctly between direct application and a rigid backing, instead of adjusting the material only once it has already arrived.

    Preparing your file

The simplest starting point is a floor plan or a list naming every room, so we can work out how many door plates, directional signs and safety signs are needed and where each one goes. For the text layout we send a single unified mock-up, with the same colour palette and the same typeface across the whole set, so a visitor recognises the signage style at a glance anywhere in the building. Keep the standard shapes and colours of safety pictograms for quick recognition in an emergency. The size of each piece follows its reading distance: a door plate is read up close, an evacuation sign has to be legible from the far end of a corridor. We check every file before printing and flag any text that is too small for the reading distance you told us about. We confirm the final layout with you before cutting any material, so corrections happen on screen, not after the set has already been printed and packed for installation.

    Lead times and delivery

Standard production in 3–5 working days, express 48 h or urgent 24 h on request. When a deadline is tight we run signage in urgent mode, provided the artwork arrives print-ready. You can collect your order from our workshop at Strada Victor Babeș 37 in Cluj-Napoca, or we ship it by courier: 3 to 5 working days anywhere in Romania and across the European Union. We confirm the exact date before we start printing, never after, so you can plan your installation, your event or your store opening around a date that actually holds.

    How to order

The fastest route is WhatsApp: tell us what you need, attach the artwork if you already have it and you get a written quote back. If you prefer to see the result yourself, the online configurator walks you through the options for signage step by step. We check every file before printing and tell you what needs fixing : resolution, bleed or cut contours. Once you confirm, we start production and let you know when the order is ready for pickup or handed to the courier.

    Frequently asked questions

Do your safety signs follow ISO 7010?

Yes, the pictograms, shapes and colours follow the standard. Tell us the room or site and we propose the set that applies.

Can you produce a full site board?

Yes. Site boards are printed on blockout at the required size, with the mandatory information laid out legibly.

Can you print from my file, or do you design it?

Both. Send a print-ready PDF and we check it before production, or describe what you want and our studio prepares the artwork for signage before production.

    Do you deliver outside Cluj-Napoca?

Yes. We ship by courier across Romania and the European Union, usually 3 to 5 working days after production, and you can always collect from the workshop.

What should I send for a quote?

Send the item list, dimensions, mounting-location photographs and available files. Identify the wording and quantity of each version separately.

Can the same design be used at several sizes?

Yes. Adapt the artwork to each format and check text readability and pictogram proportions at each size before approval.

Who checks the sign wording and location?

Confirm the messages and locations with your safety officer, then send the approved list for artwork preparation.

How do you decide the size of a sign?

By its reading distance: a door plate stays small, while an evacuation sign is sized to be legible from the far end of a corridor.
