Banners, backdrops, wall graphics, exhibition panels: large-format work is what our Roland VG3-540 was bought for. It prints 1.37 m of width without a seam, and anything wider is planned as welded or butted panels with the joint where it hurts the design least. Files are checked before printing, laminated where the surface demands it, and finished in the workshop rather than handed over as a raw roll.
Media choice follows the destination: frontlit PVC and mesh outdoors, blockout for panels, adhesive vinyl for walls and floors, paper for short-lived indoor use. Laminate is added where the print will be touched, washed or left in the sun. Contour cutting on a Graphtec handles shaped pieces, and hemming, eyeleting or mounting is done before the order leaves. We also tell you when a cheaper material would do the job — an indoor backdrop does not need outdoor vinyl.
Large-format printing covers PVC and mesh banners, large vinyl graphics for shop windows and walls, panels for facades and events, oversized indoor posters, and stand graphics. All of these are printed on the Roland VG3-540 and can be laminated or contour-cut on the Graphtec, in the same workshop, without moving the order between different suppliers. Small materials such as flyers, business cards or A3 posters are not printed on this equipment, but on the digital paper printing line, which has a different format grid and different layout constraints. If you have a mixed order, for example a banner plus flyers for the same event, let us know and we organize production on both flows in parallel, so everything is ready by the same deadline. For stand graphics that combine several product types, for example a banner plus panels plus vinyl graphics on the same visual theme, we prepare all the pieces from the same source file, to keep colors and fonts identical.
The Roland VG3-540 prints without welding up to a width of 1.37 m on the shorter side of the piece, and the length can reach up to 10 m directly in the online configurator. If both sides of the piece exceed 1.37 m, the automatic calculation is no longer available, and the order moves to a manually prepared quote, with the weld between panels positioned outside the text or logo. For vinyl graphics and film, the maximum width depends on the selected roll, up to 1.37 m. If you are not sure which category your piece falls into, or how an unusual shape is calculated, send the dimensions on WhatsApp and we tell you exactly how it is produced and whether it fits the online configurator or needs a manual quote. The same maximum width limits without welding also apply to the materials used for roll-up banners or panels, because they all come from the same rolls of material mounted on the Roland VG3-540.
For large pieces, choose a vector file whenever possible, since it scales without loss of quality regardless of size. If you are working with a raster image, the resolution needed depends on the distance from which the print will be viewed: for materials seen from close up, under one meter, we recommend a minimum of 100–150 dpi at final scale, while for facades or panels seen from several meters away, 20–30 dpi at final scale is enough and greatly reduces the size of the file you send. We work in CMYK; we convert RGB files automatically, but very saturated colors may come out slightly different from what you see on a monitor. Leave a safety margin of at least 3 cm for text and important elements, and tell us whether the final piece needs to be cut to contour or should stay rectangular.
Standard production in 3–5 working days, express 48 h or urgent 24 h on request. When a deadline is tight we run large-format printing in urgent mode, provided the artwork arrives print-ready. You can collect your order from our workshop at Strada Victor Babeș 37 in Cluj-Napoca, or we ship it by courier: 3 to 5 working days anywhere in Romania and across the European Union. We confirm the exact date before we start printing, never after, so you can plan your installation, your event or your store opening around a date that actually holds.
The fastest route is WhatsApp: tell us what you need, attach the artwork if you already have it and you get a written quote back. If you prefer to see the result yourself, the online configurator walks you through the options for large-format printing step by step. We check every file before printing and tell you what needs fixing : resolution, bleed or cut contours. Once you confirm, we start production and let you know when the order is ready for pickup or handed to the courier.
1.37 m without a seam on the Roland VG3-540. Larger surfaces are produced as several panels, joined where the visual allows it.
A PDF with fonts outlined and a few centimetres of bleed is ideal. We check every file and tell you what to fix before printing.
Both. Send a print-ready PDF and we check it before production, or describe what you want and our studio prepares the artwork for large-format printing before production.
Yes. We ship by courier across Romania and the European Union, usually 3 to 5 working days after production, and you can always collect from the workshop.
For materials viewed up close we recommend a minimum of 100–150 dpi at final scale. For facades and panels seen from a distance, 20–30 dpi is enough and the file stays much easier to transfer.
No. Small paper materials (flyers, business cards, A3 posters) are printed on the digital paper printing line, equipment separate from the Roland VG3-540, which is used only for large format.
The automatic calculation in the configurator is no longer available for that size; we prepare a manual quote, with the weld between panels positioned so it falls outside the text or logo. We send you the quote before starting production, so you can confirm the weld position.
Yes, for example a banner plus vinyl graphics or flyers for the same event; we organize production on the flows suited to each material, with a deadline confirmed before production.
