The magnet only holds on steel surfaces that are flat or gently curved, like most car doors. It does not go on aluminium, plastic or fibreglass panels, over trims, badges, deep creases or edges, because it cannot sit flat there and the wind can pull it off. Check beforehand with an ordinary magnet that the door attracts it over the whole area, and measure the flat area with a tape measure, without handles or trims. On recently repainted bodywork, ask the paint shop how long to wait before applying a magnet.
Clean and dry the door and the back of the magnet before each application: dust and water trapped underneath can mark the paint. Remove the sign regularly, for example once a week, wipe both surfaces and let them dry. Take it off before an automatic car wash and check that it is firmly attached after long journeys or in strong wind. Store it flat on a flat surface, not rolled or folded, so it keeps sitting evenly. Rounded corners lift less easily than square ones, which is why we recommend them.
A car is seen for a few seconds, on the move: the logo, the name of the service and the phone number must be readable from several metres away. Keep to one message, with large letters and strong contrast between text and background, and avoid long text or lists of services.
