The format you choose directly affects how the print file should be prepared. We work with standard formats such as A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, DL, a 10×21 cm flyer, a 15×10 cm flyer and 85×55 mm cards, the nine formats available in the configurator. Whatever the format, final artwork should be supplied at the actual trim size, with enough bleed for elements that run to the edge, so important text and logos stay a safe distance from the cut line. We recommend outlining text or embedding the fonts used, to avoid unwanted substitutions when the file is opened.
A well-organized brochure starts with an outline of the content: how many pages are needed, how the information flows, and where fold lines fall. For simple leaflets with a single fold, it helps to mark the fold area visually at the layout stage, so text does not end up awkwardly cut at the crease. For multi-page items, such as a stapled booklet, keep in mind that pages are grouped on sheets printed on both sides, arranged and folded in a specific order.
The choice between single-sided and double-sided printing depends on the type of material and how it will be used. Business cards, for example, are commonly printed double-sided, to carry both contact details and extra graphic elements on the back. Flyers can be printed single-sided when they carry a simple handout message, or double-sided when you want to fit more information, such as an event schedule on one side and contact details on the other. Posters are generally printed single-sided, since they are meant for display on a wall or board.
We offer paper in weights of 90, 135, 160, 170, 200, 250 and 300 g/m², covering both lightweight materials and sturdier, more rigid ones. Lighter weights, around 90 g/m², suit simple flyers meant for wide distribution, while 135 and 160 g/m² offer a good balance of rigidity and cost for everyday flyers and leaflets. For posters, 170 g/m² provides a solid visual presence suited to display purposes. Cards, such as business cards, are typically printed on 300 g/m² paper for a rigid, premium feel.
For quick orders, we have ready fixed configurations: business cards on 300 g/m² paper, printed double-sided, A5 and A6 flyers on 135 g/m² paper, available single-sided or double-sided, and A3 posters on 170 g/m² paper, printed single-sided. These configurations simplify the choice when you know exactly what you need and want a fast ordering process. Alongside these, we also offer a custom option, where you can freely select the format, weight, number of sides and finishing, for projects that fall outside the standard configurations. Available finishing options include stapling for multi-page items and a bound booklet option, for which we recommend confirming the file structure together before placing the final order.
Before sending a file to print, a preliminary check can prevent many later issues. It helps to confirm the document size matches the chosen final format, that image resolution is sufficient for print, and that no text or graphic elements sit too close to the trim edge. Also check whether all fonts are embedded or outlined, to avoid automatic font substitutions that can alter the final look. Important colours, such as those in a brand's visual identity, are worth checking separately in CMYK, since differences from the screen can appear. If the file has multiple pages, check their order and orientation, especially for folded or stapled items.
